Hunter´s Restaurant

Chef/Owner Angelo Schifilliti, a graduate of the New York Institute of Culinary Education, spent several years in the kitchen alongside some of the most revered names in the New York restaurant scene. Always naturally talented at pasta making, he honed his skills in Italian fine dining and developed a style all his own under the tutelage of Fortunato Nicotra at Felidia, on New York upper east side. He then moved to the Landmarc group, owned by Chef Marc Murphy, where he worked his way up to the position of Executive Chef at Landmarc Tribeca.

Opening Hunter’s, his own restaurant, in November of 2012, he is able to share his love and commitment to freshly locally sourced ingredients and use them in traditional recipes that stem from his ancestry, and his experience in living throughout Latin America and Italy.

Hunter’s has been praised for both its focus on being local and healthy by Clean Plates “you’ll find house-made pastas, pot pies, sustainably-sourced meats and 100% local veggies to round out an affordably-priced, eclectic New American, Italian and French menu” and its creativity and commitment to sustainability by Zagat Blog, “The eatery prides themselves on dishing out game meat and foraged ingredients.”

Fernando Camberos had been a longtime admirer of Angelo’s cooking from afar. He decided to join Hunter’s as its mission was being developed. He sees Hunter’s as a vehicle for starting conversations about valuing local creativity and culture, sustainability, and creating even stronger communities in this part of Brooklyn.
